So I got married at the very end of 2007. My wife is a full time student and her father wants to file her as a dependant for 2007 since he helped with her tuition. If he files her as a dependant, can we file jointly? Also, do you need to be filed jointly to be considered a married couple in eligibility for the economic stimulus package? My income is too high (>$75k) to be eligible by myself.
