Help get money back from wallstreet scondrels?
Everyday channel 7 has been showing pictures & names of the scoundrels that broke wall street and walked away with billions of dollars causing problems for the rest of us. I think if we send a list of people showing we were interested in them going after them to get the money back, it may start justice. Please sign.
I read a Chinese magazine that talked about how 10,000 factory owners fleed over night to escape the burden caused by China economy changes, such as the decrease on the export tax rebates. However, I’m still having a hard time understanding the 4 major reasons it mentioned; the tax rebates, the labor rights, the deposit on import and the increase on income tax. Can anyone elaborate more on these?

What does your local broker actually do?
Say you order 500 shares of company X, and then what exact tasks does your broker do to complete your order?
I am guessing he
1. Accepts your order/payment
2. Calls his buddy in wallstreet telling him to buy 500 shares of company x.
3. Broker notifies you of the purchase.
More specific the better.
I was thinking of becoming a stock broker, I just wanted to know how the process works.

What’s with the people clapping on the balcony at Wallstreet?
When I watch the news and hear that stocks are way down on that particular day, there is usually a camera shot of a group of people on a balcony overlooking a stock trading (?) room, clapping and smiling happily. Who are these people?

What is your school of thought for investing?
Currently, I am reading two books on investing of opposite strategies. On one hand, I am reading Jim Cramer’s Real Money book where he believes the market is not 100% efficient and there is money to be made that beats the indexes by a decent return. Year after year, these are found in the small cap, less discussed stocks.
On the other hand, I am reading “A Random Walk Down Wallstreet,” which discusses investing behavior and how people through the centuries have been burnt by “castles in the sky.” This book recommends value investing the Warren Buffet way in ETF’s, etc.
Warren Buffet said in his 2005 letter (paraphrased), “Investors have had a string of good returns but have learned any number multiplied by zero equals zero.”
Basically, I am just looking for some conversation on which school of thought you believe in and why.
Thanks in advance and I apologize for any spelling/grammar errors.
Ed, what would I do without you.
